| Steve Campbell
retired from law enforcement as Chief of Police of Port Hueneme, California.
Prior to Port Hueneme, Steve had 24 years of experience with the Glendale,
California Police Department. His first law enforcement assignment was
as a Property Clerk at the age of 19.
Steve has extensive
experience in supervision, management and executive leadership. His
law enforcement assignments included field, investigative, administrative
and tactical services divisions. He was the first Glendale Police
Department Administrative Commander of the Special Response Team in 1997.
He served as chair of the Standards and Ethics Committee of California
Peace Officer’s Association for two years, and chaired reports on the use
of force and tracking employee conduct for the California Peace Officer’s
Association after the Rodney King incident in 1991.
Steve has worked
with Joseph Latta since 1979 in law enforcement and IAPE.
Steve has served on the Board of Directors for IAPE
since 1995. For over ten years, Steve has instructed with IAPE,
and has done evidence unit audits for police agencies throughout the United
States.
Steve’s undergraduate
degree is in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco,
and he completed graduate study at the University of Southern California,
U.C.L.A. and the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the F.B.I.
National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Class 189. He attended the prestigious
Delinquency Control Institute at the University of Southern California.
Steve and his family reside in Issaquah, Washington.
