An external 300 page audit provided by ECS revealed and helped guide the Pinal County to improve its evidence management process and procedures. The audit revealed some alarming problems that could have impacted numerous cases, as over 200 items could not be located. It also identified storage facilities have been broken into and there was no tracking of who was accessing evidence due to lack of safe-guards. Sexual Assault Kits were also not being sent for DNA testing and many other issues that dated back to over 20 years. ECS provided a mission critical role in identifying and documenting some serious issues that were occurring in the Final County Audit so they could make the needed corrections to reduce liability and improve efficiencies.
